Town
Meeting OKs rezoning
A short town
meeting (its ten articles took a brief three hours to
complete) rezoned a piece of residential property off
Rte. 1 into a highway business zone, at the request of
its owner, Walpole resident Charlie Zarba.
Representatives for Zarba said that the rezoning will
allow for a $10 million retail office facility being
built.
Iraq,
free cash highlight town meeting
The Fall Annual Town Meeting opened and
closed in under three hours Monday night, but still
packed in talk of the future of the library, the
ongoing zoning bylaw rewrite, and the proper
destination for free cash.

Walpole
defense rules Norwood in 27-7 victory
It
was home sweet home for Walpole High football. Well,
sort of. Forced to host Norwood High at Xaverian
Brothers in Westwood because last week’s rains
delayed the completion of the new Turco Field, Walpole
got off to a slow start against the opposition's stout
defense. Still, the Rebels pulled off a 20 point
victory to stay one game ahead of Natick. |
Walpole
High volleyball: the comeback kids
After two
come-from-behind victories in the past week, Walpole
girls' volleyball need to finish the season 6-4 to
make the playoffs. Still, the two unlikely victories
over Dedham and Needham make the postseason a
reasonable possibility for these comeback kids.
